This is one of eight hiking trails at Natural Tunnel State Park. The Lover's Leap trail was named after two lovers, a Shawnee and a Cherokee, who supposedly jumped off a cliff into the gorge because they were not allowed to be married. This trail is .4 mile long and of moderate difficulty. It follows the rim of the gorge providing excellent views. There are many switchbacks and stairs to climb to get to the cliff.
