Notch Trail

Moderate to strenuous. After meandering through a canyon, this trail climbs a log ladder and follows a ledge to "the Notch" for a dramatic view of the White River Valley. Trail begins at the south end of the Door and Window parking area. Watch for drop-offs. Not recommended for anyone with a fear of heights. Treacherous during or after heavy rains.

This is THE trail to hike in Badlands National Park. The trailhead begins in the same parking area as The Door and The Window trails. It's a real Badlands experience for the experienced hiker and those that want more than a boardwalk to a view. The ladder was really unique and fun too. It's a must hike.

This is my favorite trail in the Badlands. The coolest part was climbing up the long vertical ladder. Then once you get up there are some pretty cool switchbacks on the trail. The view once you get to the end is awesome, too.
