Follow the Spencer Adventure Trail, along the Spencer Creek through one of the Upper Canada's earliest industrial communities. From Christie Lake conservation area to the Dundas peak, explore historic mills and dams, waterfalls, incredible vista view points along the Niagara Escarpment and discover the unique history, geology and ecology of the area.
The Spencer Gorge is significant in Ontario for its gorge and its rare and diverse variety of plants and animals. It is part of the Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere. This distinctive gorge is a Y-shaped bedrock gorge with two very scenic waterfalls: Webster's Falls created by the main trunk of the Spencer Creek; and the Tew's falls formed by Logie's Creek.
The falls flow over bowl-shaped rock formations; the most recent and smallest of a series of bowl-shaped basins in the Spencer Gorge. Over the past 12,000 years, erosion from ancient waterfalls has caused these formations. The widening of the gorge downstream suggests the falls at one time was as large as the Horseshoe Falls in Niagara.

This is not really a hiking trail . It is so clogged with so many tourists there is no room for through hikers . The Bruce trail runs through here but bicycles are present . Nice views of the escarpment if you can muscle in for a view . I would suggest avoiding this area especially on weekends !

One of the best maintained. There is a large "Quiet area" That looks unbelievable in the summer.
The last time we were here was in the summer. I had my 2 year old in a carrier and my friend had hers with a backpack harness (Some areas are too dangerous for the littles to be running around).
There are stairs in some places so you're not hiking up or down flat areas like other parks.
The falls area just bliss. So many great photo moments.
