Kitsuma features 10 miles of hiking trails near Black Mountain, NC. Hike up switchbacks through the scenic Pisgah National Forest and be ready for a workout. The ascent to the ridge is a tough one, but the views are worth it, and the descent down the Blue Ridge is a little easier. Be careful of steep dropoffs near the trail, and keep an eye out for mountain bikers as well.

Beautiful fall colors and convenient I-40 access. This trail is a bit of a hidden gem though you may see a few mountain bikers enjoying the descents. Make this a loop by hiking back up on the abandoned highway across from the picnic area.
