This is the longest Trail in the Black Mountain Range.

Where the trail intersects the Access road to Mt. Mitchell (SR 128). The trail then continues along an old railroad grade.

After Maple Camp Bald the trail then descends through old growth fir and spruce forests.

    This trail is great alone, or in combination with other trails on Mt Mitchell. It has many many beautiful views out over the mountains. At times it can be steep and rocky, is is probably one of the easier back country trails on the mountain.
