Description

The Appalachian Trail runs 32.2 miles from ME Hwy 4 to ME Hwy 27. Along the way it passes the Piazza Rock Lean-to, Saddleback Mountain, The Horn, Saddleback Junior, the Poplar Ridge Lean-to, the Spaulding Mountain Lean-to, Spaulding Mountain, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Caribou Valley Road, South Crocker Mountain, Crocker Mountain, and Stony Brook Mountain.

    wow this a hike,10 mts,5or6 are 4000ft up. bring cold weather gear for the mts(always windy)first one is saddleback. first 4 miles aren't bad,then it goes stait up for the last 1.3.than its 1.5 miles across ledges to the horn(great views)after that its down one mt than up the next all the way to rt 27. lots of great views,waterfalls and places to stay and get water.if you do it all its a 3 to 4 day hike for someone who hikes a lot.
