The 1,087-acre Sam Houston Jones State Park is a truly well-preserved area open to the public. Bird watching at this park is excellent because it is located near a very productive birding region. Water sports abound with convenient boat launches and rental boats for your use. Three hiking trails give visitors an opportunity for a scenic stroll through the park. Cabin and campsites are also available for rental. The hiking trails on the property equal about seven miles when combined.

Warning to those not from this area!
If you hike any of the trails here in summer you're in for a grueling little stroll! The heat and humidity not to mention the mosquitos are relentless! Best to hike here in any other season but summer! You've been warned!
