For an intown family hike, Sope Creek gets a thumbs up from us. There are multiple trails within the park. The park itself, adjoins the walking trails that lead to Columns Drive. On a sunny day, the trail around the large pond is a nice warmup for the longer trail which is a circumference around the park. The kids loved the hilly parts and then we had fun in some of the creeks, which emptied into the river. Along the river are giant bolders (always a plus) then a half mile hike took us to the Paper Mill ruins. Although the excitement of the children to play on alongside these elevated ruins was a bit unnerving, it made for a very fun afternoon. By the time we got back to the car, all of us were exhausted. Great trail...
