This area can be confusing if you dont research beforehand. These trails (for hiking and off-road biking) are called the Croom Hiking Trails. The Citrus Tract Trails (which I think are much nicer with less traffic) are located about 10 miles north in the Withlacoochee State Forest. Both trail locations have loops and are located off of roads that have the same name - CR480 but are in two different towns. Croom Trails are in Brooksville and Citrus Tract is in Inverness/Lecanto. Ok, one more confusion. There are also awesome paved biking trails that are a must see. The Withlacooche State Trail is a 46-mile path that passes though both trails. Crazy right? Great area...just know where you are going so you dont drive in circles (like we did) :)

This is a loop trail that encircles a large pond. The trail has numbered markers that correspond to information on the maps available at the entrance. The trail is mostly flat and smooth. There were so many deer there I had to stop counting. We saw more than 30 deer spread across this trail. It was exciting! The trail is under canopy with the exception of a bridge that crosses the pond.

This was a very nice trail around the lake. The information in the brochure was very informative. It was very secluded and peaceful. I went during a Summer afternoon and saw many deer along the trail. The facilites were clean and the trail was well maintained.
