The Colorado Trail runs for almost 18 miles from the North Cottonwood Trailhead to the Clear Creek Trailhead. The first 1.5 miles of this section and the last 1.4-1.9 miles are outside of the wilderness boundary, but the other 15 miles of this section are contained within the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, making this a very remote section of the Colorado Trail.
While it's remote, the CT does cross numerous other singletrack trails as it passes through the wilderness. Trails it crosses include the Three Elk Trail, Bunny's Trail, Frenchman Creek Trail, Wapaca Trail, Pine Creek Trail, and Waverly Mountain Trail.
Along the way, the CT passes Mount Columbia, Mount Harvard, and Waverly Mountain.
Trail length: 18 miles
