Campground Description

Seneca Shadows is the newest campground in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. Many sites offer outstanding views of the 900 foot Seneca Rocks. This campground is a popular base camp for visitors while traveling through the Potomac Highlands.

    Campground Activities

    Hiking: The Seneca Rocks Trail begins at the Seneca Rocks Picnic Area.Located nearby is the newly built Seneca Rocks Discovery Center.Fishing, rock climbing, and sightseeing are a few of the many activities available in the area.

    Campground Amenities

    There are 25 conventional drive-in campsites in Loops A & B. The 13 sites in Loop C include electric hookups. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, lantern holder and paved parking large enough to accommodate two vehicles and 8 people. Some double sites are offered that can accommodate 4 vehicles and 16 people. All loops have modern flush toilets with showers.Group sites D, E, & F can accommodate groups up to 40 people per site. Each group site has five tables and tent pads, a barbecue, fire ring and separate parking areas.Forty walk-in sites that offer a great view of the rocks are available at the north end of the campground. Each site has a picnic table, tent pad, lantern holder and fire ring.A wheelchair friendly bathhouse is available and an outdoor amphitheater is on hand for group meetings at no additional cost.A dump station is available.

    Very nice full facility campground. Lots of sites, including many with hookups for RVs. Large walk-in tent area. Showers. Right across from Seneca Rocks, so a perfect camping spot for climbers. Close to 2 small stores for supplies.
