This 29,350 acre rural lake is just a few minutes from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and is a great place to get away from city life. We took our Cub Scout pack to the Johnson Branch which is on the north side of the lake. The campsites were clean, quiet and close to the facilities. There were some sites that were not the best for tents but we all fit just fine! There is a stocked kids fishing pond. Most boys caught a fish while only being there for an hour! I plan on taking the family back there soon. It is only 55 minutes from the house.
