While driving home from out west, we decided to take the scenic route through the Badlands in South Dakota. It is about a 20mile detour off the freeway, and takes about 2-2.5 hours at a nice pace to drive through (stoping of course take to take in the beauty and take pictures). The Badlands truly is awe-inspiring, a beauty that is unique to itself. The stone structures change colors with the sun and every direction you look is different. There is a campground right in the middle of it all, which makes you forget about everything else in the world. The quiet environment is a great place to reflect, relax, and enjoy nature.
