Campground Description

This is a very flat and open campground on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park. There used to be trees here but they were recently all cut down due to a pine beetle infestation. Now you can see clear across the campground.

The campground is wide open because the park had to cut all the trees to get rid of pests. This is a nice place because it is next to the river. There is an amphitheatre where ranger-led programs take place. It was self-serve and the water is off before the summer season, so be aware of when the park makes certain amenities available to avoid inconveniences.

This was an alright campground. I didn't like how open the area was due to the lack of trees. Other than that, it is just your standard campground. The Colorado River is right next to it, though. It's a nice place to hang out and just relax.
