Choctaw Campground is located on the spacious Greers Ferry Lake nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. In the 19th century, a city named Higden flourished where the lake now rests. The city suffered from frequent flooding and as a result a man-made lake was created for flood control of the area. Today, the city's remains sit below the lake, enticing scuba divers and archeologists alike.

We had a wonderful time. Restrooms were as clean as could be expected. It was a great place for kids to ride their bikes. It was too cold to swim this stay but other wise a lovely time outdoors!
