From the alpine trails of the Sierra Nevada to the dusty paths of the Mojave, Nevada (NV) offers hikers a little bit of everything.
Northern Nevada features the Great Basin, which provides paths that wind past pristine lakes, deep valleys, and steep mountain ranges. West Nevada brings hikers into the Sierra Nevada where hikers can explore lush forests and alpine lakes like Lake Tahoe. Strenuous trails provide stunning views from snow-capped mountaintops.
Head south and hikers will find themselves close to Lake Mead, near Las Vegas, and located on the Colorado River. Trails wind around the lake offering stunning views of this beautiful body of water. Nearby, hikers can explore the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest or for the adventurous hiker, there are dusty trails winding through the Mojave Desert.
