With its many State Parks, wide open prairies, and pristine lakes, Kansas (KS) offers campers a quiet night under the stars.

Located in the midwest, most of Western Kansas is part of the great central plain, offering campers endless prairies with big skies. Campsites near lakes are also popular in this region, giving campers opportunities to fish, canoe, hike, or swim. The terrain changes a little heading into Eastern Kansas where campers will find more hills and forests. Wooded campsites under the shelter of trees is more common in this area. The Missouri and Kansas Rivers can be found in the Northeast while the Arkansas River flows through the western and southern parts of the state. Campsites can be found near many of these rivers, and provide a cool, quiet place to start a campfire.

A variety of campgrounds can be found all across the state, especially close to I-70, and provide a range of services to their campers. Families can book RV sites in campgrounds with pools, children's playgrounds, and running water, or for campers looking for a more secluded experience, basic, primitive tent sites are available as well. And don't forget to look for camping near cities like Wichita, Kansas City, and Topeka!
