This is popular trail within Grand Teton National Park. The trail follows the south side of the lake for several miles, then turns up canyon to the 200 ft Hidden Falls. Proceeding past Hidden falls can leads to inspiration point, which offers views of the lake. There is an optional boat shuttle service that bypasses the trail along the lake and drops passengers about 0.5 miles from the base of Hidden Falls.

Go as far west on this trail as your feet will allow. As you leave Jenny Lake behind you, you enter a canyon full of rushing water and rocky peaks on both sides. Moose are a regular sight in this area and some of the Tetons major peaks will tower over you to the south.

Always been a great fan of Grand Teton National Park, much more so then its over populated neighbour to the North, and this trail is a great example of why. The trial is beautiful and relaxing. It is surrounded by rugged mountains and tall pine trees. Hidden falls, which is the main attraction, is gorgeous as it cascades down the side of the mountain. Inspiration point is also an impressive sight, offering grand views of Jenny Lake and the whole valley. The biggest downfall is the popularity of the place. The boat shuttle available from the Jenny Lake visitor center is very popular and in the half mile between the boat docks and hidden falls there has been at least 300 people every time we visited. The trail up to inspiration point is quite a bit less crowded, but still has quite a few visitors. However once you get away from the main corridor between the boat docks and Hidden Falls, the people just seem to disappear. In the three miles between the Jenny Lake visitor center and the boat docks on the far side, we saw a total of around 10 people. The trail through this section is no less spectacular then the trial up to Hidden Falls from the Boat Dock, and I highly recommend it. It follows right along the side of lake and is peaceful and offers a great chance to see wildlife, birds, and to just relax away from the hoards of people.
