The Old Fort King Trail is 6.7 miles long, and runs from just south of the Hillsborough State Park to John B. Sargeant Sr. Park, along Hwy. 301 North.

Large sections of this trail are under water during the rainy season. Following an old Indian trail, the route is believed to be part of the path taken by Hernando De Soto on his expedition of conquest in the 1540s.
