The Grand Canyon is known around the world because it's high popularity. Now before going we expected there to be a lot of people, and there was a decent amount. We went in February, and there were signs of snow and a solid 35 degrees. However the views were spectacular and unforgettable. We however were only able to hike the South Rim trail and didn't have time to hike to the river.

As a heads up, you do need a permit to go backpacking, so be sure to get on the list if you plan on spending some nights below. There's the option of taking a pack mule as well.

Spectacular views of the canyon, but very crowded. This trail is the main stop for everyone that comes through the Grand Canyon, but yet its a must see, even despite the crowds. Be prepared for weather changes, which happen very quickly. In 10 minutes, it went from clear skies to downpour, which we were out in, completely unprepared.
