Camping Review: Arcadia Lake in Edmond, Oklahoma

The camping here was horrible. The entire lake area is covered with trash. My kids and I spent most of the time picking up beer cans and diapers. The sites are very close together. On the weekends the area is jam packed. It is definitly not a place to "Get outdoors".

I really like brookville for a fun weekend away with my kids and family. I take offense to the people calling everyone names just because they like the lake. If you don~t like it don~t go there. It will much more pleasant without the negativity

Camping Review: Nehalem Falls in Nehalem, Oregon

This is one of the sweetest little camp spots on the coast. The campground itself is clean, but the beach just downstream of the falls gets a little trashy in summer. It only takes 5 minutes to pick up the trash yourself, though, and then it~s one of the only freshwater beaches on a river in NW Oregon! Great salmon fishing below the falls in October!!

This camp is surrounded by mountains and cliffs in a beautiful grassy area. There are 2 sites hidden away to the right as you enter the camp, 6 sites overall. Although this isn’t set right on the Owyhee River, it’s close. This is a beautiful place and the gravel road to the site from Jordan Valley, Oregon is maintained pretty well.
New Campsite: Clover Flat in Yakima, Washington

This site is way up high in the mountains. I was here at the end of June and there was still a little snow on the ground but the wild flowers were beautiful. The campground is surrounded by meadow and mountains. This is a very large and open area and there was a handpump for potable water the last time I was there. It doesn't get much better than this. Hiking trails in the area. Found this site in Rays Guides, Free campgrounds in Washington.

New Campsite: Hermit Island Campground in Phippsburg, Maine

A beautiful campground in Maine, right outside of Bath. Caters only to tenters, providing them with many activities to keep them occupied. Some of these include swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking. There are seven white sand beaches on the island including one that you have to hike to reach. For fishing and boating, the island rents out boats at their private marina which you can take out and fish for bass or cod. Finally, the island has many hiking trails including one that goes right alongside the ocean. A camp store provides groceries, fresh seafood, and firewood while the gift shop sell many postcards and t-shirts. The Kelp Shed is the main service center for the island. Here you can check-in to the island, checkout the activities list, grab a bite at the snack bar, or play in the game room. The restrooms are located throughout the island and each site has a fire pit, parking space, and picnic table. Overall, Hermit Island is any camper’s paradise.

Camping Review: McCrystal Creek Campground in Cimarron, New Mexico

I LOVE the Valle Vidal and McCrystal Creek Campground. Where else can you hike for days without trails, watch elk and bison, and still have a comfortable and clean campground to come home to? While it can get almost full at times, if you pick your days carefully you could be the only ones around! Horses are easily accommodated here, but tent campers like us are just as comfortable. No potable water here, but with these views and surroundings, I~ll happily bring my own!

Campsites under the cottonwood and juniper trees near the Donner und Blitzen Wild and Scenic River. At the south end of Malhuer Refuge. This campground was named for a series of springs which flows through the area. The rock bluffs above the campground were formed by lava and ash flows.
Camping Review: Boone Fork in Lenoir, North Carolina

The drunks and druggies have taken it over. IT IS NO PLACE FOR A DECENT PERSON. No one watches over it, takes to long for law enforcement to arrive if needed.
Sexual acts out in open, bad language shouted all through the night, drunks fighting,no respect from other campers and no water fit to drink in park.
Wasn~t even opened last year for lack of funds they said. Use to be nice campground but no more---hell hole now.
