Forested hills, a picturesque lake and the lazy Ohio River characterize Forked Run State Park. Located in the heart of Appalachia, colorful history, riverboats, scenic vistas and abundant wildlife give the park its rural charm.

I confess that Forked Run is not the most exciting place to take someone who wants to be into everything. But for a quiet, relaxing experience, especially later in the year, you'd have a hard time finding a better place in southern Ohio.
