I just came back from 5 nights at Eighth Lake Campground. I will go there again. It is beautiful. I was lucky enough to get a site on the water with a beautiful view of Seventh Lake. The cool thing about this campground is you can camp on either Eighth Lake or Seventh Lake or on the road between the two. They also have canoes for rent, with them available at boat launches on either lake. I prefer Eighth Lake for canoeing or kayaking. This is much more in the wilderness than the rest of the Fulton chain, but not too far from Old Forge or Inlet. If you want a site on the water, you will need advance reservations, as they are usually reserved far in advance.
