Directions: Buckaloons Recreation Area rests on the site of a former Indian village, on the banks of the Allegheny River. Take U.S. Route 6 west from Warren, PA. Buckaloons is just south of the intersection of U.S. Routes 6 and 62, about six miles from Warren.
Guidebooks: Activities: The Buckaloons Seneca Interpretive Trail, named for the Seneca Indian tribe that once lived here, circles the entire recreation area. It is one mile long. An on-line map of this trail is available.
Campground services: Buckaloons offers 57 family campsites, two double sites, and one group site, each containing a picnic table(s), fire ring, and grassy tent site. Several sites have charcoal grates. There are showers, flush toilets, a pressurized water system, and a dump station. There are electrical hookups on 43 sites. A concrete boat launch, a pavilion, and a picnic area are also available. Dead and down wood may be used as firewood.
