Reviews of Big Knob State Forest Campground

We camped here last year in early September. There was only one other site taken, and they left the following morning, which left us the entire campground to ourselves. The sites are well-spread out from each other as a rule, especially those on the back loop. The sites along the beach are wonderful, and although not quite as private as those on the back loop, they are certainly better than some campsites in other state forest campgrounds. The 6 mile drive down to the campground from US 2 adds to the remoteness of this place. And the beach stretches, undeveloped, for miles. A couple of nice hiking trails coming in, especially the Marsh Lake trail.

Good beach on Lake Michigan for little kids. Shallow a long way out.
