Description
Picnic grounds open year around (time 6-10), pets must be kept on leash. No pets, bottles, cans or coolers permitted on beach. Camping is permitted only on designated sites. Rapelling and Rock Climbing are prohibit to protect fragile eco-systems. Horse back riding is not permitted in Rim Rock National Recreation Recreation or Beaver Trail.Directions
From Harrisburg 145 S. to 34 S. to Karbers Ridge Road and follow signs.Activities
Fishing: Electric Motors Only. Lake contains Large Mouth Bass, Channel Cat and Bluegill.Hiking:The .8 long Rim Rock Trail meanders through native hardwoods and cedar plantation, past the remains of the old Indian wall, and along the edge of the rim rock escarpment. Pounds Hollow Lake can be seen from an observation area at the top of the escarpment. A stairway to the valley leads to “Ox-Lot Cave”, which is actually a huge rock shelterbluff. Near the stairwell in “Fat Man’s Misery”, a narrow passageway through massive cliffs and huge boulders. Beaver Trail connects Rim Rock with Pounds Hollow.
