Directions

Camp Dick is located one mile west of Colorado State Highway 72, at mile-marker 50. It is approximately 19 miles north of Nederland and 20 miles south of Estes Park. It can also be accessed via Colorado State Highway 66 west to Lyons, then southwest on Colorado State Highway 7 for approximately 12 miles to Highway 72, then south on Highway 72 approximately four miles.

Activities

Camp Dick is situated in a glacial valley adjacent to Middle St. Vrain Creek. It was once the site of a Civilian Conservation Corps camp, established in the 1930s. Recreation opportunities exist for hikers, backpackers, horseback riders, mountain bikers, 4x4 and off-highway vehicle users, and anglers. Those intending to overnight camp in the nearby Indian Peaks Wilderness should contact the Boulder Ranger District (303-541-2500) regarding specific regulations that apply. Dogs are allowed in the campground and in the wilderness, but must be on a leash at all times. Camp Dick is normally full for the weekend by early Friday afternoon, so plan to arrive early or consider making a reservation. Peaceful Valley Campground is approximately one mile east of Camp Dick and has 17 sites, 8 of which are reservable

Reviews of Camp Dick Campground

Reviewed by Guest on June 21, 2007

We stayed on the South spur June 15-17, 2007. The sites were spotless. Plenty of shade, very large sites. The camp hostess was very cordial and checked often to make sure all was well. Some sites in the campground can be reserved.
