Hiking the Arizona Trail

October is Arizona Trail Month (in Arizona anyway) and several groups have organized various section hikes during the month. The Arizona Trail runs 807 miles south to north from the Huachuca Mountains at the Mexican border to Utah. Yep, that means the trail cuts right through the Grand Canyon and traverses some pretty diverse ecosystems along the way - from parched desert to high altitude forests. A few of the scheduled group hikes this month:

Hike Oct. 4 & 5 at Humphreys Peak north of Flagstaff.
Hike Oct. 12 on Mount Lemmon north of Tucson.
Hike Oct. 19 near Oracle State Park.

Fall is a great time to explore the Arizona Trail, get out this month and check it out!
