Washington (WA) hiking is Pacific Northwest hiking at its best, from its beautiful cliff-strewn coastline to high-elevation snow capped mountains.

Northwest Washington hiking is seemingly endless in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest where there are miles of wooded trail. Hikers can enjoy meandering paths through the wilderness or they can hop on the Pacific Crest Trail for a difficult day hike or a long backpacking trip. Olympic National Forest, located on Olympic Peninsula, offers secluded and forested trails near the Pacific Coast, and Seattle's Puget Sound offers plenty of island hiking, and wooded trails that traverse local fjords and bays.

Mount Rainier, in Central Washington, provides alpine trails that explore this entire volcano. Southern Washington has trails in Gifford-Pinchot National Forest where hikers can enjoy strenuous trails that scale Mount St. Helens, or more easy base hiking trails. Head east and hikers can find paths that explore the scenic Blue Mountains or the lower-elevation Kettle River Range Mountains.
