Washington (WA) camping is Pacific Northwest camping at its finest, from a beautiful cliff-strewn coastline to high-elevation snow capped mountains.
Northwestern Washington provides plenty of camping in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, where alpine camping is popular in the Cascade Mountain range. Campers can enjoy both secluded, primitive sites in the Forest's wilderness or more family-friendly sites. Olympic National Forest, located on the Olympic Peninsula, provides private, forested campsites that seem remote, even if they're right outside of Seattle. Seattle's Puget Sound has plenty of island camping, as well as campsites along fjords and bays that have scenic views of the Pacific Ocean.
Find campgrounds in Central Washington near the famous volcano, Mount Rainier, in the Cascade Mountains. Southern Washington provides campsites within Gifford Pinchot National Forest where campers can enjoy a campfire at the foot of Mount St. Helens. Head east and forested campgrounds, both private and within parks, can be found in the Blue Mountains and the lower-elevation Kettle River Range. RVs and campers are welcome at many campgrounds, and both basic tent sites as well as wilderness tent sites can be found.
