Description

Loop hike that takes you past the Tesla Plant and up a steep canyon until finally dropped back via Stanley Canyon trail. The 713 trail is rarely crowded - in fact each time I've hiked past the Tesla plant I've seen no one.

Directions

Enter the Air Force Academy at the south gate. Turn left on Pine Drive, then left on W. Monument Creek Drive. Trailhead parking at the end of the road on the right.

One of my favorite CO hikes because it's so accessible yet you'll rarely see anyone else out here. I once encountered a horse with full saddle packs (minus rider) on the forest road portion of the 713 trail. Strange...
