Directions

Head South from Butte on Highway 2. Just before the road begins ascending to Pipestone Pass, look for the right fork which is Roosevelt Road. Follow Roosevelt Road until you come to another fork, but this time, continue straight (you will remain on Roosevelt if you go right, goining straight puts you in Moose Creek Road). At this point, the road turns from pavement to gravel. Continue to the top of the divide (after a few false summits) and look for a large pullout with a Highland sign on the right. If you emerge from the forest and begin descending into an unobstructed view, you've gone too far.
