Directions

Take U.S. Hwy 41 as far north as you can go to the tip of the "U.P." of Michigan and you will dead end into the quaint little burg of Copper Harbor and the location of Keweenaw Adventure Center (www.keweenawadventure.com). These nice folks will provide you with all the details for some of the sweetest mountain biking in the upper mid-west! They have maps as well as guided rides which I most highly suggest since the trail markings are hard to find for the first timer and you'll have a great time hangin' with Sam and his local bunch which are all great riders as well as company! They also have a full service shop with repair and bike rentals.The trail ranges from nice flat gravel bike paths down along the lakeside to tight (sometimes very steep) technical singletrack with some nice fast downhills along some old doubletrack roadbeds. There is also some seriously technical rock sections which will test even the most seasoned riders but with the wonderful payoff of a truly georgeous lake to dive into at the end of the line! Man, the water is cold!!!!! The scenery is truly something special because the surrounding land is basically wilderness so be prepared to see some bear scat and other interesting "wild" sights! Breathing such clean air at this locale is something everyone should experience at least once in their lives because it definitely makes you feel better after you kick your b*** on this ride! Oh, and post ride you have to partake of the "Planked Whitefish" at the Harbour House resturant if you want to taste the best piece of fish you will ever have in your life! Caught fresh from Lake Superior to your table, AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, don't wait any longer to make those plans for a truly epic bike trip, this is the PLACE!
