Description

From Burningtown Gap north to the Nantahala River and US 19 crossing. Shelters along this route include Cold Spring Shelter, Wesser Bald, and A. Rufus Morgan.

Directions

From Franklin, take Wayah Road to the town of Kyle (just after you pass Lake Nantahala). Look for SR 1397 (aka Cold Spring Creek Rd.) on the right and follow to dead end at Burningtown Gap.
