(2 out of 2 members found this review useful.)This is a great section of the Appalachian Trail with some of the best views you'll find in North Carolina. At least two balds (Siler and Wayah) open up incredible vistas of the surrounding mountains and the stone Wayah Bald tower is a cool place to take a break on the trail. Easy road access at US 64 and at Wayah Road. Take the marked gravel road at the top of Wayah Road to drive to the top of Wayah Bald.
