Tons of hiking, bridle, and biking trails to explore! The park has many great trails but my personal favorite is the Company Mill loop. There is an old Mill site on the trail and nice views of Reedy Creek. Several lakes in the park (Sycamore, Big Lake, and Reedy Creek Lake) and even camping sites. Great place to get away from the city/suburbs for an afternoon.Trailhead Location Map click for directions

(1 out of 1 members found this review useful.)Nice hiking trails abound in Umstead. I enjoyed both the hiking and mtbing in this State Park. It has made a nice recovery since Hurricane Fran did so much damage a few years ago. The trails and trail maps are easy to comprehend. Lots of ups and downs, some creekside trails and cool pine forest hiking. Hard to believe it is in the middle of the highly populated Triangle area of NC.
