(0 out of 0 members found this review useful.)Camelback mountain is a great hike and I say this after having hiked Black Mountain and Piestewa Peak. Camelback mountain is the best of the three. You do not have to be an expert hiker as many reviews suggest. I saw young and old on the hike. The area is beautiful with the sandstone rocks. You get to be a kid again and climb over and around few rocks. I would wear a thin pair of gloves because there are some areas in which you will need to use your hands to scoot down or grab hold of a rock for balance. However a word of warning regarding parking. Parking is very limited and Paradise Valley vigorously enforces their no parking zones of which there are many near the park's entrance. You may have to walk 1/2 mile to the park's entrance. But do not let this deter you from a great hike.
