Description
This is the southernmost section of the Appalachian Trail and goes north from the summit of Springer Mountain to intersection with Georgia Highway 60. Shelters along this route include Springer Mountain Shelter, Stover Creek Shelter, Hawk Mountain Shelter, and Gooch Mountain Shelter. View an interactive map and download GPS data at GPSApp.net.

From Hwy 52, take Nimblewill Church Rd. north. Turn left on FS 28-1 (dirt road). Turn left on Winding Stair Gap Rd. Turn left onto FS 42. Start of the Appalachian Trail is on the left at the summit of Springer Mountain.Trail length
