Numerous hiking loops close to Durham. The Cox Mountain loop has some pretty significant elevation changes throughout. The Ridge Trail and Holden's Mill trail give you great views of the river and Bobbitt's Hole trail is fun as well. Drive down Sparger to Howe Street to access the Cabe Lands Trail and the old quarry swimming area.Directions
Two parking areas: 1. Off Cole Mill Road, approximately 2 miles north of I-85. Turn left onto Old Cole Mill Road into the parking area OR 2. Go to the end of Cole Mill Road (dead ends into the park).Guidebooks
