(0 out of 0 members found this review useful.)This is an excellent, nearly 20-mile-long hike extending the entire distance between the North and South Shores of Long Island. The hiking trail is marked by white blazes, and is paralleled by a paved biking and skating trail for the southern six miles or so, between the southern end and Bethpage state park. Be sure to wear boots on the hiking trail unless there has been no precipitation for several weeks, because large portions of the trail turn to bogs and stay that way.
