Description

Head north on the trail from Gateway Park and within moments enter a wooded wetland area. The path winds between small ponds - watch for herons - and emerges at Big Woods Lake. At the east end of the lake, take time to explore the Cedar Falls Rotary Club's prairie restoration. Interpretive signs identify the tall grasses and colorful prairie flowers. This trail is connected to Black Hawk Park by the Lone Tree Road Trail.
