Incredible views (an understatement) and great facilities with only 10% of the people at the South Rim! The drive into the park on highway 67 is worth the trip alone - high alpine meadows dotted with aspen and spruce trees and tons of wildlife. Trails are well marked and many start at the visitors center. Pick up the free map and guide at the entrance to the park ($25 per vehicle). Hiking trails include the Widforss trail, North Kaibab trail, and the Ken Patrick trail, among others.Directions

(3 out of 3 members found this review useful.)You don't need to try to hike down to the floor of the Canyon to enjoy GC National Park. There are plenty of rim trails and others that explore the high mountain terrain on the North Rim side of the park. Some paths are even paved, particularly those around the visitors center.
