Edna Mae Bennett is a 3/4 mile loop (the city of Colorado Springs says .75 mile, the Palmer Park trail guide says 2.6 miles, but it felt more like 3/4 of a mile when I hiked it) rated advanced, or black by the park's green/blue/black rating system. It's got lots of technical steps (both stone and wood) and lots of drop offs and is very rocky. It's also got some beautiful scenery and lots of bunny rabbits and squirrels to check out (that's the only wildlife I saw, although I don't doubt that there are other species lurking,) and it takes you down into the north canon, away from the roads and picnic areas. It also intersects with the Templeton Trail if you want to get in more mileage. All in all, a really cool, albeit short, hike.Directions
Head for the Paseo entrance to Palmer Park and park at the trailhead right at that entrance (Paseo and Chelton.) The trail is off to the north of the restrooms.Trail length
