Description

Great hiking trails for all skill levels. The park topography consists of a mesa with finger-like extensions dotted with pine and scrub. Great views of the city and miles of trails!

Directions

From Academy Blvd. (heading south) turn right on Maizeland Rd. An entrance to the park is on the right just past the ballfields also on the right. Palmer Park is almost right in the middle of town (north of the airport, south of Chapel Hills Mall).

Excellent area in the middle of town. Can be accessed from multiple points, allowing for different hikes on a regular basis. Great for hiking when you cannot be gone all day. Despite being in the middle of the city there is still a wildlife population.

When I lived in Colorado Springs, this was my favorite in-town park. Lots of bikers, hikers, runners, and dogs on the trails. Well marked with difficulty ratings, the most difficult trails were rocky and technical but worth the effort. Never got tired of the trails here!
