One of the most challenging and one of the most rewarding. Visit it on a weekday and you will most likely see deer up close. Make sure you bring water.Directions

This is double if not more then 5 miles I believe the whole thing is around 11 or 12 miles. It takes a couple of hours to complete. You go through 2 mountains and loop around to the Visitor Center. Initial Climb Straight up. This is a challenging hike.

(4 out of 4 members found this review useful.) Reply to ReviewThis place is my go to place, the scenery is fantastic. No long mountain views but the natural environment and the rock formations are unique and pretty cool. Most of the hiking trails are large paths through the flat lands, very nice but more a walking trail if ya know what I mean. However, there is a gem of a trail starting at burnt hickory, up the west side of the mountain. This takes you up little Kennesaw mountain, a ton of switchbacks and steep! On top of little Kennesaw mountain, you will encounter cannons, a very nice and cool surprise. Then the trek up the main mountain begins, more of the same switchbacks. Once at the top of the mountain, the views are very nice, you can even see Stone Mountain on clear days. Down the very heavily traveled side to the visitors center and back around to burnt hickory is a nice walk after your climb. Round trip is around 5 miles, about 3 hours if you stop with your wife as often as I do lol. Total trails there are 17.5.
