The Monroe trail is the direct way from the east to travel on Camel's Hump. It's classified as moderate to advanced hiking, and the average time takes about 4 hours, So plan for a day hike if you want to tackle this one. Great views from the very beginning as well!Directions
Take I-89 exit 10, and follow Vt. 100 south to the junction of Routes 2 & 100 in Waterbury. Turn left toward Waterbury for 0.1 mi. then turn right onto Winooski Street. Cross a bridge, and turn right onto River Road. Go 4.6 miles and turn left onto Camel's Hump Road. Stay on the main road until reaching a parking lot at the end of the road.Trail length

A round trip on this hike will take you about 6.5 miles. Also a junction to the Long Trail can be accessed not far from here.
