Description
Dogtown Lake got its name from the extensive prairie dog towns that once covered open areas near the lake. In spite of the name, this medium-sized body of water is actually surrounded by trees. Today, you'll find fewer prairie dogs than forest visitors, who've come to camp and fish for the trout, crappies, and channel cats stocked here.Near the lake, visitors can enjoy a guided nature trail and a hiking trail that leads to a scenic overlook of the area from the top of nearby Davenport Hill.Activities

(1 out of 1 members found this review useful.) Reply to ReviewA resent fishing and camping trip to dogtown lake was very rewarding. My wife and I caught a total of 17 good size trout. We fished most of the days from shore because the wind was too strong for the electric motor. The fishing was good and the catching was great.
The campground is closed until May.
The campground hosts Don & BJ did a great job taking care of the campground. We look forward to seeing them next year.
