Description

Clear Creek Camp And Group Camp West Clear Creek flows along the boundary of this desert canyon country camp and is a popular place for hiking, swimming, wading and fishing. Cool water species such as smallmouth bass and green sunfish populate the stream near the campground. The oasis bordering the creek and extending into the campground is an excellent place for wildlife watching. It provides a productive home to a number of species of colorful songbirds and raptors. Beyond those lush environs, the Sonoran desert bristles with cactus and adds variety to any hike.Clear Creek Campground is grassy and flat with shade provided by tall cottonwoods. It has a relaxed and open atmosphere that keeps people coming back year after year. Just a short gravel road separates the campground from nearby paved Forest Highway 9.

Fees

$14 per night, $7 second vehicle at single unit sites. Campground available for picnic/day use from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $7.00. Firewood is available for sale in all our campgrounds by our hosts. The price is $6.00 ea or 3 bags for $15.

We camped here in July and it was a little hot. The camp ground is well kept and there are a decent amount of trees for shade, in most sites. I didn't think the ground was all that rocky for tents, but we just got back from Ashurst/Forked Pine campgrounds where ur lucky to find dirt to pound ur stakes into :-P The creek is a little bit of a walk w/ a small swimming hole. Not very good for fishing.

Nice big ramada to get out of the rain. Very rocky to find a place to pitch a tent. Well kept & clean facilities. The creek is a bit of a hike straight downhill, but is accessible. Gets rather warm in the hottest part of the summer. Christopher Creek is nearby for a short drive for forgotten items.
