Description

This 15-acre maintained camp is in the northern part of the Long Cane Ranger District of the Sumter National Forest. Although primarily used by hunters and equestrians, Fell Camp offers other recreational opportunities such as birding and hiking.

Directions

From Greenwood, take SC Route 10 south for 7.7 miles. Turn right onto SC Route 47 and drive 2.4 miles to entrance on left. From Abbeville, take SC Route 33 south (Cedar Springs Road) for 8 miles. Bear left onto SC Route 47 and go 1.5 miles to entrance on right.

Activities

Situated in pine and hardwood, this primitive hunt camp has loop and linear sites with a centrally-located water source and vault toilets. The surrounding forest environment sustains abundant wildlife, resulting in some of the most desirable hunting areas in the upstate. Game and non-game species are managed. Several stores are nearby. Offering camping facilities and ample parking for stock trailers, Fell Camp serves as the trailhead for the 24-mile Long Cane Horse Trail. The trail has numerous access points and diverse terrain. The novice as well as the advanced rider will enjoy a truly unique riding experience. Surrounding Area Nearby points of interest include historic Abbeville, Parson‚Äôs Mountain Recreation Area, Parson‚Äôs Mountain OHV Trail, Cedar Springs OHV Trail, Midway Camp, and Candy Branch Rifle Range.
