Brick House campground is a continuation of my tour of South Carolina’s best kept secrets. Summertime use there during mid-week is minimal, although the nearby Buncombe Horse Trail receives some use. The campground, however, was empty all the nights I stayed there. Most sites are designed for equestrian use but tent camping can be enjoyed by non-horse campers on a first come-first served basis. Nightly fee is $5.
There is no water source at Brick House so be sure to bring what you need. If you run out of water or other supplies, the town of Whitmire is less than 10 miles away. You will find what you need there. The Enoree Rangers do a superior job maintaining Brick House. Everything is clean, organized and informative. Pretty classy place for a semi-primitive campground. If you are looking for quiet evenings in the South Carolina woods, Brick House campground is a good bet during summer mid-week.
